Cutting Room Comic

I LOVE comics like no other art form, so I was pleased as punch when I was offered the opportunity to do a guest strip for the web comic "The Cutting Room". This could be a step in the right direction to starting my own web comic material, we'll just have to wait and see.

Also, special thanks to Alejandro Acevedo for these colors, which actually make my work look halfway decent. hahaha.

Enjoy these jokes about netspeak.

  1. Woah, somehow I missed this!

Anyway, congrats on your first comic gig! Very awesome! I thought it was funny too - I got all of what "they" were doing, but don't recognize that band.

Your really nailed those hands! My only crit is watch the proportions of the faces from panel to panel - like the 2nd to last one is kinda squashed compared to the last one.

Anyway, hope this leads to others!

  2. Thanks. I don't know "Offspring" either, but I was given a detailed script to work from and just figured the guys in charge knew what they were talking about.

At least with the penultimate panel I can blame the "squashed" nature on the placement of the speech balloons, which were already in place on a template I was given. What really gets me is the huge hands in the first panel, which may explain the extraordinary door knob size as well. Just something I didn't notice until I uploaded it here and hoped no one else noticed either.
