D.R. Hovey was kind enough to point out that I neglected to include any Dean Cornwell's artwork in my "
Pesky Pirates" post. Such an abscene was simply inexcusable on my part, so I'm going to attempt to rectify that with this post.
The Red Shawl
Limb Envy
Marco...
It is my regret that do to my pressed schedule and the quality I want to go into these posts and the time that such a goal requires that I will no longer be posting my "Admirable Artist" features on Wednesdays for the foreseeable future. I will continue to post on Saturdays and will mix in artist tribute entries in with my "Inspirational Illustrations" features when I can.
Thank you for your understanding and support and I hope that you will all return again on Saturday were our theme will be:
Beach Bums and Bathing Beauties
Thanks for posting these man, great work! I love the stuff you find :D
ReplyDeletew00t finally! Last time I checked, good Cornwell paintings were notoriously hard to find online. The Columbus library had that Dean Cornwell book, but a lot of it was in black and white, and it's super expensive to buy. Same with NC. Unless there's a treasure trove somewhere that I missed hehe...
ReplyDeleteI'll have to remember to contribute stuff to your themes before you put them up! Here's one that comes to mind: http://cghub.com/images/view/10392/ Most of the cool beach artworks I know of are pure environments instead people though unfortunately.
I know exactly the book you mean. As for own my resources, Mr. Groff directed me to Heritage Auctions were I got a majority of these Cornwell pictures. Tumblr can be a good resource for vintage illustrations, but they only had two images of Dean Cornwell's, an oversight I've since corrected, heheheh.
ReplyDeleteAny contribution is helpful, thank you. I encouraging sharing, even if it isn't fitting with an upcoming theme especially since I'm in the midst of searching for some new illustrations.
Veeery nice :)
